Personal AI desktop / Open-source experiment

A browser? An AI agent app?
A desktop OS, rethought?

Smeidu-Ono reimagines the desktop around workspaces and worktabs, breaking down the boundaries between apps so you can focus on your work.

One environment. Room to think.

Your work has a place.

Most desktops organise life around applications. smeidu-ono explores a different starting point: the workspace. Browser sessions, agent conversations and local documents share one environment. Focus on a window, work side by side, or step back to see the whole picture.

EMAIL / CALENDAR / TEAM

Command Center

Bring email, calendar and team conversations into the rhythm of your day.

DESIGN / CODE / RESEARCH

Train Commuter

Keep research, designs, your repository and project notes within reach.

BROWSER / AGENT / FILE

Summer Trip

Compare places, plan with an agent and keep the itinerary in your own files.

How it works

A personal AI desktop built around workspaces.

A browser, an agent, a document: each is a window, with an equal place.

The system contains Command Center, Train Commuter and Summer Trip. Train Commuter expands into six equal window types on one track.

Command Center, Train Commuter, Summer Trip: bring windows together around a project, an interest, or your day. Each workspace holds its own ordered track of browser, agent, document, files, result and settings windows.

Your work has a place.

Browser sessions, agent conversations and local documents share one consistent environment. Windows show the content; skills act on it within the workspace. Files and saved conversations can remain after their windows close.

Nested system, workspace and window containers. Research, an agent and a document share Train Commuter, with persistent content and a separate skill invocation.
Focus on one. Work side by side.

Step back for an overview. Fullscreen focuses one window, split view shows two neighbours, and Overview folds the track into rows. The same windows keep their order as you change the view.

A browser, an agent, a document.

Each is a window, with an equal place. Browser shows a website; Agent holds a conversation; Document opens a local file. Files browses the workspace folder, Result shows generated work, and Settings holds system controls. Optional browser chat stays inside its browser window.

Agents belong in the desktop itself.

Browser and agent windows share the workspace. The top bar moves between its windows, local controls act on one window, and the bottom bar selects the workspace and directs the work through one command field.

A trip, planned with an agent.

Compare places, plan with an agent and keep the itinerary in your own files. This vision scenario follows the context from browser to agent, through reading and writing skills, into trip-plan.md. Save it in the workspace folder and pick it up again later.

A browser. An agent. A file.

Same standing. Shared space.

Move between Command Center windows. Focus on the calendar, return to split view and step back into Overview. Switch to Train Commuter, with designs, project notes and a repository view. Open Summer Trip, read an agent conversation beside the itinerary, edit the Markdown and save it. Find the saved itinerary in Files, then return to Command Center.

This recording uses prepared browser content and a saved agent conversation inside the real app.

A more personal computer

A computer that follows your thinking.

The vision is a desktop where agents belong to the environment itself. Less effort moving context between tools. More space to follow a thought, make something and pick it up again.
